Racoș, September 28th 2019.
Last weekend’s road trip took me to a new impressive place in the heart of Transylvania, the remote geopark of Racoș. The site hosts the crater of a volcano that last erupted thousands of years ago, a turquoise lake formed in a former basalt quarry and a group of basalt columns resulted from the quick cooling of the erupted lava.
The landscape seemed to come from another world while the lack of curious travelers made the experience even more authentic.
